Jean Marie (Ruhoff) Parr, of Lander, Wyoming, died on Saturday August 13, 2016 at Morning Star Care Center in Fort Washakie, Wyoming at the young age of 66 years old.
Her viewing will be held Thursday August 18th from 5-7 PM at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander Wyoming and funeral services will be at Hudson's Funeral Home at 10:30 AM on Friday August 19, 2016 followed by a burial service at Mt. Hope Cemetary, also in Lander.Her services will be officiated by her cousin, Pastor Robert Recker from Green River, WY. and Pastor Scott Engleheart of the First Baptist Church in Lander, WY.
Born August 27, 1949 in New Hampton, Iowa to Edward Ruhoff and Marcella (Merrick) Ruhoff, she was one of 8 children.She spent her childhood growing up on dairy farms in Iowa and Wisconsin.She graduated from Marathon High School in Marathon, WI and then pursued a Certified Nursing Assistant degree from Mid-state Technical School in Marshfield, WI.
She was married, then later divorced, to Marvin Kolb of Anchorage, AK.They had four sons together, Jerry Kolb, Kirk Kolb, Travis Kolb, and Chad Kolb.
Jean later was remarried to James Parr on September 12, 1993 in Anchorage, AK.
She was baptized in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 27, 1996 at Grace Community Church in Anchorage, AK
She worked most of her life in the medical field.The last fifteen years of her career were as a Pharmacy Technician in Alaska.She then retired and moved to Lander with her husband.She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband as well as tending to the landscaping and flowers around her home.She made many trips to visit her sons and their families as well as her brothers and sisters.One of her greatest pleasures was visiting with local friends and participating in bible studies from local churches.
She is survived by her husband James Parr; her sons Jerry Kolb, Kirk Kolb, Travis Kolb, and Chad Kolb; her sisters Ann Lemmer, Kathie Stencil, Mary Miller, Carol Hickey, and Marcia Werner; her brothers Tom Ruhoff and Don Ruhoff; her grandchildren Kirsten Kolb, Gary Kolb, Selena Kolb, A.J. Kolb, Hallie Kolb, Peyton Kolb, Emerson Kolb, Wyatt Kolb, and Josh Kolb; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Edward Ruhoff and Marcella (Merrick) Ruhoff.
