William "Bill" Platt Wilson passed away September 15, 2008 at his home in Lander, Wyoming following a short battle with Leuekemia.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 19, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Lander, Wyoming.
Bill was born September 29, 1929 to Platt and Delia Gaddo Wilson at Kemmerer, WY.
He graduated from Kemmerer High School, served four years in the Air Force, and then graduated from the University of Wyoming.
He married Marjorie Anne Schurr on July 12, 1958 in Casper, Wyoming. He was a partner in Delcon, Inc., an electrical contracting business in the Lander and Jackson Hole areas, retiring to his home on Squaw Creek in Lander in 1995. He was Past President of the Rotary Club and Past President of the Winter Fair Board. Bill and Marge were fortunate to celebrate their 50
th
wedding anniversary with a family reunion this past July.
Bill was the consummate Wyoming outdoorsman, enjoying many activities with his family, including skiing, fishing, hunting, horseback riding, pack trips, and camping. He also enjoyed many types of music, particularly classical and opera.
He is survived by his wife Marjorie, daughters Jenny Wilson, Aliso Viejo, CA, Ann (Jeff) Rose and their children Dylan and Heather, Lingle WY, son Jim (Laura) Wilson and their children Erin and Alex, Marion, SD; Sister-in-law January Wilson, Rapid City, SD and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jim Wilson.
