William "Bill" Jones

May 6, 1959 — July 30, 2025

William "Bill" Jones, 66, of Lander, WY, passed away on July 30th, suddenly as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born on May 6, 1959, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, to John D. Jones and Kathryn L. Delozier. Bill grew up in the Harleysville area, the suburbs of Philadelphia; he moved to Lander in the summer of 1975. He married Lisa Jones on February 14, 2004, in Kauai, Hawaii, and together they had a loving marriage filled with laughter, family, and travels. They were blessed with a blended family of 7 children: Derik, Tara, Taylor, Tricia, Nicholas, Meagan, and Tyler.

Bill worked as a plumber for 53 years, during which time he opened his own business, starting it from the ground up. He became a well-respected plumber in the community and was loved for his person, a "Buck Valdez." If you have ever had the pleasure of knowing Bill, you would be aware of the work ethic he had and proceeded to instill into his children and grandchildren.

While being newly retired, Bill enjoyed riding mules in his spare time, whether that be with his grandchildren, children, or by himself. He will be remembered for being quick with a joke and never missing a chance to make people laugh, and for having an amazing knack for keeping people on their toes with what he would say next.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Lisa Jones, his mother Kathryn "Kay" Delozier. Along with his children and grandchildren, Derik, Michelle, Hayden, Adri Jones, Tara Muller, Wyatt Barnes, Taylor, Kristi, Justus, Jax Jones, Tricia, Keigann Watson, Meagan, Keanu Campbell, Kynleigh Beason, Porter Tyler Chopping. Siblings: Dean, Diane DiJenno, Hope, Carl Christiansen. He was preceded in death by Nicholas Brady Jones, John D. Jones, and Harold Delozier. As well as Neal Guymond, who was a close friend and mentor.

The service will be on October 3, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Lander Community Center. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Bill's name to Hope's Lodge, 375 E. 100 S., Salt Lake City, UT, 84111.

Our family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all of the medical staff who tried their hardest that fretful day. We also extend thanks to all of Bill's family and friends; he loved you all, and we are devastated by this loss.
