William Ronald Calvert

William "Bill" Calvert, 83, of Lander, died on Monday, September 14, 2015, at his home in Lander with his daughter and grand-daughter by his side. A funeral, with graveside Military honors will be held on Friday September 18, 2015 at the Hudson Funeral Home and Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander.

William "Bill" Calvert was born on July 22, 1932 in Baggs, WY to Fred Calvert and Marion (Cleveland) Calvert. He did many things in his life, he help his parents rebuild their log home, worked as a Ranch hand, and a landscaper in California, as well as serving in the U.S. Army as a Radar operator during the Korean War.He had five children, four sons and a daughter.He enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking, restoring old furniture and building picture frames often giving them as gifts. He enjoyed all things outdoors: Gardening and landscaping his front yard, he lived for hunting with his family and friends, rock hunting with his late wife Vi.He always looked forward to his trips to Moran Junction with Sandy Divan, as well as the annual Calvert family reunion.He was an avid card player, and often enjoyed beating his family and friends at late night games of Cribbage and Pinochle. He was a member of both the VFW and The American Legion.Bill was an open, caring, and warmhearted man, with his door, his arms, and his heart open for everyone.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Marion Calvert, his wife Viola Calvert, two brothers; Andy and Jimmy Calvert, his sister Esther Hitchew, and grandson Christopher Calvert.

He is survived by son Michael Calvert of Rock Springs, son David Calvert and wife Nicole of Rock Springs, daughter Theresa Krueger of Lander, sons Kenneth Calvert and Todd Calvert both of Lander, brothers Don Calvert of Hanna, and Lauren Calvert of Lander, sisters-in-law Lucinda Calvert and Pat Calvert of Lander, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and friends.
