Walter Dick Tidzump passed into the spirit world on November 12, 2024 surrounded by his family in Lander, Wy.
Dick was born on July 19, 1957 to Walter Hebah and Pauline Aragon Tidzump in Lander, Wyoming.
Dick grew up in the Owl Creek Mountain area. He attended schools in Bargee, Crowheart, Fort Washakie, Pavillion at Wind River Schools. He graduated from Wind River High School in 1976. While in school he excelled in Football and Basketball and received numerous awards. He enjoyed playing Pool. He also enjoyed roping and breaking horses, Family brandings, where he was considered the fire god, hunting, fishing. Indian Relay Racing competing at Cheyenne Frontier days. In Fort Hall, Idaho his team "Stars and Bars" won several Championships and jackets. Dick and his brothers also had a basketball team named the Bandits.
Dick was a Sundancer and a jack of all trades from being a cowboy to oil rig worker. His one true passion was cowboying at Arapahoe Ranch for Vernon Sheer and Darwin Griebel. Big and Little Roustabouts, Bill Bush and Sons. He also worked for many departments for the Tribe, Eastern Shoshone Recreation, Eastern Shoshone Housing Authority, Shoshone and Arapahoe Fish and Game where he stood behind the badge. He also served several years on the Wind River Water Resource Control Board as a member on the Eastern Shoshone side. Once he became a grandpa his life changed and he loved watching his grandkids grow up and spend all his time towards them. Especially when it came to tiny tots (Johnstown Hoyas), to school games. You could hear him cheering from the stands or correcting the Refs on their lowsy calls.
On December 17, 1994 Dick married Judy (Shine) Tidzump. Dick is survived by his Wife Shine, Son Luke (Lyndsay) Tidzump. Daughters; Denae Leftwich and Autumn Behan. Grandchildren; Elyxis Ogle, Chloe McAdams, Koa and Kyle Benson and Walter Redfox Tidzump. Sisters; Delane and Sheri Tidzump. Brothers; Reed and Dion (Laurie) Tidzump, Manny Romero, Rod (Susie) Tillman, Preston (Jeanette) Smith, Marvin Aragon Sr., Marvin Hill, Sherman Sage and Darwin (Kari) Griebel, Loren Smith and Clarence (Estelle) Smith. Grandma; Katherine Shakespeare, Francine (Arlen) Shoyo, Grandpa; Verlon Timbana. Aunts; Zedora (Allen) Enos, Theresa Whiteman, Donna (Glenn) Wesaw, Beverly Thomas, Nola Weeks, Betty Hill. Numerous nieces, Nephews and grandchildren of the Garzas, RealBird, Friday, Tidzump, McAdams, Guffey, Pogue, Jones, Strock and Mann. Special friends Jimmy (Carla) Mann, George (Janet) Hardin, Dennis (Maria) O'Neal, Tim (Becky) Miller and Dickie Burnett.
His one true lap buddy, his dog Precious, who will miss him dearly.
Dick is proceeded in death by his parents Walter Hebah Tidzump and Pauline Aragon Tidzump. Sister Sandra Tidzump. Brothers Flynn Wetchie and Thad Tidzump. Uncles Wesley and Ivan Tidzump, James Brawly, Laurence, John, Pete, Oliver and Bill Aragon. Aunts Clara LaRogue, Linda Romero, Susie Aragon, Julia Smith, Juanita Urban, Regina Sage, Catherine Dorrance, Rowena Hebah, Delores Tidzump, Delane Gould, Norma Medina, Brenda Oldman. Grand Parents Peter and Lucinda Hereford Aragon, Luke Dick and Bessie Hebah Tidzump. Great Grand Parents Jesus and Juanita Maiette. Dolly Timbana and Wallace Hebah, Thad and Annie Washakie Tidzump. Great-great grandparents Chief Washakie and Crow woman, John and Maggie (McAdams) Timbana, Todza. Adopted children Jeffrey Strock Sr. and Samantha (Buff) Ferris. Grandchildren Jaylen Garza and Jamie Guffey. The families of the Tidzump, Aragon, Hereford, Timbana, Hebah, Tillman, Washakie, Noseep, Snyders, Ferris, Smiths, Shongutsie, Quiver, McAdam, Panzetanga and Shoyo.

Wake to follow at the Family home on 1500 BlueSky Highway.
Services will be held Saturday November 16, 2024 at 10:00 am at the family home.
Cowboys last ride up to Burial site at Aragon Cemetery in Kinnear Wyoming.
