It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Virginia Ann Countryman, 73 of Lander, Wyoming. She was born on 06/12/1951 to John Roscoe Countryman Sr and Betty Alma Knight in Lander, Wyoming. Virginia Countryman passed from health complications on December 16th, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones.
She grew up with her sister Molly Countryman and John Countryman Jr. on Sweetwater Ranch. They later moved to Lyons Valley and continued their journey as a family, caring for livestock and each other. Virginia graduated from Fremont County Vocational High School in 1969, and then got her Associate's Degree from CWC. She became a mother after giving birth to Brandi Countryman on April 13th, 1982.
Virginia worked in many places in Fremont County including The Union Bar, Mcrae's Drug Store, The Popo Conservation District, KOVE KDLY Radio station, The Museum of the American West, and most recently Safeway. Her infectious laugh and grand smile impacted her community positively.
Virginia is preceded in death by grandson Brent Russell, parents Betty Countryman and John Countryman Sr., and grandparents Ida Countryman and Mark Countryman as well as grandmother Gracie Hoover.
Virginia's survivors include her daughter Brandi Laramore, grandson, Chance Countryman, and granddaughters, Alona Wilkerson and Cami Russell, as well as siblings Molly Countryman and John Countryman Jr.
Virginia was honest, kind, and caring. She was 4' 10" with a 6' personality and she lit up every room she walked into. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones and community.
Services will take place on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10 am at the Hudson Funeral Home. The spreading of ashes will be held at a later date with close family. A benefit pool tournament will be held at the Maverick Lounge from 12-27 through 12-29 December 2024. For more information call 307-349-0823.
