Virgil Garrett Antelope

Virgil Garrett Antelope, 59, was born on January 17, 1953 at Fort Washakie, Wyoming to Virginia L. Thunder and the late Raymond Isis and passed away on January 14, 2013 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming surrounded by his family.
A Visitation has been arranged, beginning at 7:00 pm, January 17, 2013, in the Blue Sky Hall, Ethete, throughout the entire night. A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am, Friday, January 18, 2013 in the Blue Sky Hall. Burial will follow in the Yellow Calf Cemetery, Ethete.
Virgil is lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Virginia Antelope, who raised him.; wifeRegina of 23 years; sons, Anthony and Adrian White Antelope; daughters, Leslie "Josie" Antelope, Darilyn Bent, and Nicole "Fawn" Antelope; proud grandfather of, Leandre, Ra'el, Dustin, Zachery, Ashia, Brayden, Makai, Rokko, and Kaylynn; sisters, Laurie Antelope, Debra K. Antelope, Rhonda McCabe; brothers, Randy Olson, and Neil Crazy Thunder; numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives; adopted family includes, Roy Blackburn, Joseph Blackburn, Angela Brown, Francis Monroe, Jane Dewey, and Raelene Stacy.
Virgil previously worked as a bus driver & custodian for the Fort Washakie School District 21 for 14 years. He was loved by many students and faculty.
Virgil attended schools at Mill Creek Elementary & Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota.
Virgil played Rhythm guitar for his band the Wind River Outlaws. He was well known for his Art in his bead work. He enjoyed hiking, traveling, and just being outdoors. He was a devoted fan of the Wyoming Indian High School Chiefs and Denver Broncos.
Virgil is preceded in death by father; brother, Johnny Guthrie; grandfathers, Vernon Sr., Roberts Sr., & Martin Armour Sr.; uncles, Bruce Armour & George Antelope; cousins, Thomas, James, & Brenda Antelope.
