Troy Scott Prather, "Scotty" was called home by our heavenly father on January 18, 2011 after a five year battle with cancer. He was 63.
A Rosary will be held Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Washakie. Funeral services will be Tuesday Jan. 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the Rocky Mountain Hall in Fort Washakie. Interment will follow at Chief Washakie Cemetery.
Troy Scott Prather, "Scotty" was born in Ft. Washakie Wyoming on January 7, 1948 the son of Leroy Prather and Theresa (Hereford) Grovum. Mr. Prather attended grade school and high School in Lander, Wyoming. He worked for U.S. Steel in Atlantic City, Eastern Shoshone Tribe Construction, BIA, Shoshone and Arapaho Tribal Courts, Sumner Construction & Mechanical Inc. and in the Oilfields. In his younger years he participated in basketball. He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, hunting, traveling, gambling and watching rodeos and his love was the PBR. He is survived by his mother Teresa Grovum, son Scott Prather and his soul mate and companion Charlene Tillman, adopted son and daughter Dwight and Stephanie Harris & family, and special granddaughter Riley Ann Harris. Aunts; Wanda and husband Lyle Chase, June Stagner, Patricia Garvin and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his father Leroy Prather, son Noel Prather, sister Maneva Brown, grandparents Lawrence Hereford and Eva (O'Neal) Kniffin.
