Trisha Brooke Kimsey, 44, of Lander, Wyoming, passed away in Lander, Wyoming, on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Trisha was born on January 5, 1982, in Greybull, Wyoming, to Ray Clair Stearns and Lenny Marie Stearns.
First and foremost, Trisha loved her children, Hunter and Brookelynn, more than anyone on this Earth. Being their mother meant everything to her. Trisha enjoyed being with her children and never missed an opportunity to say, “I love you.” We know Trisha is so sad that she will miss all of Hunter’s and Brookelynn’s milestones throughout their lives.
Trisha’s friends also meant a great deal to her. She would drop everything to give a helping hand, even when she felt rotten herself. She was great at giving advice, and if a friend called just needing to vent, Trisha was there for them.
Trisha enjoyed photography and took hundreds of pictures of her children and family. Her love of photography also gave her the opportunity to photograph a wedding and take senior pictures for several people.
Trisha loved her job at the state school until her chronic migraines overtook her life and she had to quit.
Above all, Trisha would want Hunter and Brookelynn to know: “Go enjoy your life and know I’m so proud of both of you, and always remember I love you to the moon and back.”
Trisha was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elise and Clair Stearns and Kay and Roger Johnson; her father, Ray Stearns; sister, Liesa Hill; niece, Tairyn Stearns; aunt and uncle, Linda and Gerald Murray; and cousin, Curtis Murray.
Trisha is survived by her children, Hunter Kimsey and Brookelynn Kimsey; mother, Lenny Stearns; brothers, Jeremy Stearns, Chris Stearns (Stephanie), and Brandon Sanderson (Sarah); sister, Ann Stearns; aunts and uncles, Kelly and Dave Williamston, Gloria and Buzz Collingwood, and Roger Johnson; nieces and nephews, Wyatt, Cash, and Cody Stearns, Brenan, Evan, and Bailey Stearns, Blake and Saddie Sanderson, and Aspen and Tristin Hill; and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of Mount Hope (Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Dr., Lander, WY 82520) on Friday, August 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Hope Cemetery.
