Todd Edward Mckinney

Todd Edward McKinney passed away suddenly from natural causes at his home on Twin Creek on January 17, 2013. A Memorial Celebration has been arranged for 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home, Lander.
Todd was born to Tim and Rosanne (Roe) McKinney on December 16, 1966. He spent his entire life on the family ranch on Twin Creek South of Lander.
He attended Lander schools and graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1985. During his high school years he was active and excelled in both football and Future Farmers of America. He was an all- state football player and was a member of the National FFA Meat Judging Championship team. After high school he went to Laramie County Community College where he was part of the rodeo team.
Growing up Todd's passion in life was ranching. Not only did he work on his own family ranch, but also for many other ranches in the state. He started at a very young age working for George Mazet, Bobby Jammerman, Ken Ballard (Yellowstone Ranch) and Tom and Ruth Reed and later for Kip and Bonnie Alexander in Cora. He was skilled at all aspects of the ranching operations.
He acquired the skill of operating heavy machinery at a young age, working with his Dad, and his Grandpa Ed. He also worked for Patrick Construction and later started McKinney Construction.
Todd was an avid outdoorsman and one of his greatest joys was hunting; not only for himself but through guiding others. His other life joy was watching old westerns especially John Wayne.
Todd is survived by his parents; his brother Tim and wife Jennifer of Cora - nephew Jake McKinney and niece Jalin McKinney; his sister Tara Berg and her husband Brett and nieces Brooke Berg and Brittnee Berg. He is also survived by Grandmother Anna Mae (Patik) Roe; his Aunts Cheryl (Roe) Wilson and her husband Jerry; Kelly McKinney Ravert and her husband Mike, as well as numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Walter "Hink" Roe; Grandparents Ed and Hilda McKinney and Aunt Marilyn McKinney Adams. Also preceding him in death were his mentors Bob Jammerman, Joe Patrick and Tom Reed Sr.
