Thomas Matthew Denego, 31 years old, died at his home in Ethete, Wyoming on August 23, 2021. An all night Visitation will be 6:00pm, Sunday, August 29, 2021 at the Family Home, 579 Blue Sky Highway, Ethete. The Funeral Service will be 10:30am, Monday, August 30, 2021 in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 163 Leedy Dr, Lander, WY 82520. Burial will follow at the Tyler Family Cemetery, Ethete, Wyoming.
Thomas was born November 1, 1989 to Leonard Denego and Joan Willow in Lander, Wyoming. He was baptized in the Catholic Church. He attended Wyoming Indian Elementary School and graduated from 8th grade from Wyoming Indian Middle School. He attended High School at Chemawa Indian High School, Salem, Oregon. Thomas also attended Central Wyoming College in Riverton, Wyoming and Wind River Tribal College in Ethete.
Thomas enjoyed family camping trips every summer especially going to Moccasin Lake. He really had fun swimming in Moccasin Lake! He was employed by the Wind River Casino as a cashier, and currently seasonally employed with the Wind River Camp Crew where he would travel to wildfires in the Western United States. This past summer he traveled to Idaho and Oregon. He worked DOOR Dash in Santan Valley, Arizona.
Thomas took special care of his nieces and nephews. They looked forward to seeing him. He also took care of Bella and Snowflake. Thomas was a great artist, and loved to make Native American Crafts. He had many friends across the Western United States and always gave more than he received, always going above and beyond for his family.
Thomas was preceded in death by grandparents, John E. Willow Sr. and Lucy A. Redman Willow; paternal grandparents, Mary and Joseph Denego of Northern Saskatchewan, Canada; aunt, Eloise L. Willow Stewart; uncles, Stacey J. Stewart Jr., Norman P. Willow Sr., Kenneth D. Willow; brothers, John E. Willow III, Arlyn C. Willow; sisters, April R. Lincoln, Jocee L. Stewart, Kellie Willow; nieces, Marisa Spoonhunter, Aspen WallowingBull; and nephew, Brian E. Willow.
Survivors include his mother, Joan Willow of Ethete; father, Leonard Denego of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; brothers, Adam (Shaylynn) J. Willow Sr. of Phoenix, Arizona, Timothy M. Denego of Lawrence, Kansas; nieces, Josephine Nizhoni, Adinideen "Beez" Willow; nephew, Adam Raphael Willow; Indian mothers, Margie Willow, Linda Willow, Veronica (Dominic) Addison, Christine (Warren) Niedo; uncle John E. Willow Jr.; brothers, Preston, Theron, Michael, Joshua Willow, Stacey Thomas Stewart III, Dennis Lincoln Jr., Anthony T.
