Syd loved the outdoors...hiking in the mountains, playing golf, rock hunting and exploring new places in the Wyoming that she loved.
A devout lover of animals, dogs in particular, Syd started the "Dare to Care Animal League" which was later to become the "Lander Pet Connection" which is registered with the State Of Wyoming as an animal rescue group. Continuing her work on behalf of animals Syd taught dog obedience classes, became a certifier for Therapy Dogs, Inc. Her own dogs are in the Wyoming Animal Hall of Fame, being recognized for their service. Many will recall the joy and comfort Syd and her Goldens brought to elderly nursing home and hospital patients, and the many children who learned responsible pet care through school visits... Hundreds of dogs and cats are enjoying safe homes through the efforts of the Lander Pet Connection.
