Sonny Jacob Duran was born March 4, 1989, he made his way onto the spirit world August 29, 2015. His Indian Name is "Houneen, Crowman."A Visitation will be 5:00 pm till 8:30 pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Blue Sky Hall, Ethete with an evening wake to follow at 360 Blue Sky Highway. Funeral Services will be 10:00 am, Thursday, September 3, 2015 also in the Blue Sky Hall. Burial will follow in the WallowingBull Cemetery.
Sonny attended school at Mill Creek Elementary, Wyoming Indian High School. He played Basketball, Football and Wrestled for Wyoming Indian & Wind River High School. He enjoyed hanging around with Family and friends; most of all he loved spending time with his sons, nieces & Nephews. The way Sonny lived his life was tremendously influenced by his late grandpa Burton Hutchinson Sr., he taught Sonny the value and beliefs of the Native American Church and the Arapaho way of life.
Sonny is survived by his parents, Mervene Brown and Forrest Duran. Sons, Marcellus, Johnston, Nikeen, Elijah and Cordlyn Duran. Adopted son, Jade CrazyThunder. Brothers, Emmanuel D. Duran, Aloysius SittingEagle, Forrest Jr., Diego and Angelo Duran, Melvin and Dustin Villa. Sisters, Sherilyn Hebah, Tishina, Gina, Mia and Drizzling Rain Duran. Donelle and Victoria Villa. Adopted parents, Don and Susan Villa. Grandparents Aurelia J. Hutchinson, Felix and Irma Groesbeck, Jack and Mary Herrera, Manry Ann Duran, Delmar Duran Sr., Noreen Vigil and Theresa Hanway. Mother of his children Gladys Hill. Uncle, Darrell Hutchinson. Also survived by the Brown, Duran, CrazyThunder, Groesbeck, WallowingBull, Trumbull and Hutchinson Families.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Burton Hutchinson Sr., Alfred Duran Sr., Mervin Brown, Gloria Eagle-Duran, Jacob BigHair, Nora Trumbull, George Brown, Fred and Jane WallowingBull. Nephew, Tyler B. CrazyThunder. Brother, Brandon WallowingBull.
