Sheldon Ray Whiteman passed away January 2, 2015 in Ethete, Wyoming. A wake will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, at Blue Sky Hall. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 8, at Blue Sky Hall.
Sheldon was born February 24, 1989 to Mary J. and Virgil Whiteman Sr. Sheldon attended Ethete Child Project, Ethete Headstart, W.I.E.S., W.I.M.S., W.I.H.S. and Fort Washakie High School. He worked at the Wind River Casino as casual laborer. Sheldon liked to draw and tag his drawings. He liked free style rapping and hip-hop dancing. He liked to travel. Sheldon's favorite football teams were Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks. He liked hanging out with family and friends. Sheldon liked helping people. His number one obligation was to his only child, 3 year old Lanessa Evay Whiteman. He enjoyed family outings. He enjoyed being Sundance security; he enjoyed pow-wow meetings and making new friends. He enjoyed and loved life…
Sheldon is survived his daughter, Lanessa Evay Whiteman; his parents Mary J. and Virgil Whiteman Sr.; Brothers and Sisters Mitchell Whiteman (partner, Roberta), Chanda Whiteman (partner, Thomas), Nathan Arthur Sr. (Jesse), Marie Arthur, M. Kelly Arthur, Wm. Redhawk Arthur, Loretta Whiteman (partner, Mitchell), Alana Whiteman, Virgil Whiteman Jr., Jonathan B. Arthur, Melinda Whiteman (partner, Thomas), Dancing King Whiteman (Crystal), Harlen Whiteman (partner, Cheyenne), Inez Whiteman, Larry Reuben Saunders, Kimberly Harjo (Gary), Sharalyn Whiteman, Rhonna Cruz (Daniel), Joanna J. Oldman (Joseph) and Joseph "Donk" Arthur. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and grandchildren.
He is survived other family members: Whitemans, Reveres, Cardenas, Saunders, Whiteplumes, Arthur, Bearings, Najera, Comptons, Harjo, Hereford, Martinez, Martells, Bell, Spoonhunters, Trumbull, Browns, and Foote.
He was preceded in death by his brother Henry D. Arthur Jr. (Pogo), Kenneth (Kojak) Whiteman, Jerome Beau Whiteman, Michael T. Revere, Rita Duran, Cynthia Revere, Paul W. Revere Sr., Ruben J. Revere, Rene Sittingeagle, Ira Whiteplume, John Lee Whiteman, Kenneth J. Whiteman Sr., Charles Whiteman and grandparents Laura Revere, Victor Revere Sr. and Eva Mae (Goggles) Whiteman, and John Atlee Whiteman.
