Sharon Irene (Rodeman, Higgs, Giddings) O'Neill -May 29, 1944 – February 14, 2025

Sharon passed on February 14, 2025, at the age of 80 after a lengthy decline in health due to strokes and other medical conditions. She had been in and out of the hospital, and rehabilitation facilities. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place.

Sharon was born May 29, 1944, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. The 7th child of Charles Everett Daniel (Dan) and Lillian Dolly Grace (Shimek) Rodeman. At the time of her birth, her parents had insurance, and her birth cost 39 cents. Sharon was the only child not born at home.

Sharon grew up in LaGrange, Wyoming with her 5 sisters and 1 brother. They were all kept busy with growing a huge garden, helping with household chores, and attending school across the street.

Sharon and her mother moved to Riverton in 1959, bringing with them only what would fit in the car. Sharon spent her nights waiting tables at Chopping's Café, while attending Riverton High School.

In Oct. 1961, Sharon married Lloyd Higgs, to this union, 2 children were born, daughter, Rhonda, and son, Jeff. Sharon and Lloyd later divorced.

Sharon and her sister, Caroline, both worked at the Wheel-In Café, tending each other's children while the other one worked. It was during this time, Sharon met Jim Giddings. They were married in Jan. 1968. To this marriage, son Mike was born. This marriage also ended in divorce.

In Aug. 1976, Sharon married Horace O'Neill, who brought to the family his 4 children. Sharon and Horace both worked for Dixilyn Field Drilling and later relocated to Casper. While in Casper, they purchased B&B Auto Electric, with Sharon doing the books, ordering and delivering parts, and learned how to rebuild alternators, something she enjoyed.

Many would come to know Sharon through her marriages, time she resided in each location, and the various jobs she held. From baking the best cinnamon rolls to be sold at Riverton's Tastee Freeze, Sweetheart bread, Lakeside Resort, The Broker Restaurant, Aspen Realty, Wyoming Tire, and Nania construction.

Sharon was recently honored for being a 40-year member of the Eagle's Club, something she was very proud of. Her other interests included sewing, quilting, knitting, crafts, gardening, canning and freezing the fresh fruits and vegetables that she grew, bowling, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. Her eyesight prevented her from doing so much that she previously loved and really wore on her.

Sharon was very independent, and never one to ask for help. She was still taking care of her own lawn at 79 years old. She suffered from a devastating stroke in January 2023 but still insisted on living alone. Sharon fell in Oct 2024 and had a compression fracture in her back. She went to Elkhorn Rehab in Casper, and got aspiration pneumonia, she was then transferred to West Ward Heights Care Center in Lander. In December, her health declined, and she was transitioned to Home Hospice at the daughter's home, where she peacefully passed away.

Sharon is survived by her children, Rhonda (Michael) Dailey of Lander, Jeff (Susan) Giddings of Papillion, Ne. Stepdaughter, Barbara (Rock) Chilton of Clackamas, Oregon. Brother Charles Rodeman of Cairo, Ne., Sisters Shirley Henderson of Bar Nunn, Edris Wilson of Lusk and Caroline Johnson of Cheyenne. 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins and friends. And her very special friend, Bill Lattimer of Casper.
