Sandra J. C’Bearing, 72, of Ethete, Wyoming, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and loved ones on February 3, 2026. She was born on January 28, 1954, in Lander, Wyoming, to the late Vincent and Florence Redman. Sandra was baptized in the Catholic faith and lived steadfastly by her Northern Arapaho Way of life.
Sandra attended Mill Creek School, Flandreau Indian School, and graduated from Lander Valley High School. She then went on to earn an Associate of Arts degree from Central Wyoming College.
On August 2, 1974, Sandra married Aloysius C’Bearing, Jr. in Lander, Wyoming. Together, they raised four children: Polly, Robert, Aloysius III, and Aloysa C’Bearing. Sandra and Aloysius were blessed with 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Over the years, Sandra worked for several organizations, including Teton Video, American Laundry, El Torro, Svilars, Dr. Crane’s Office, Tribal Water Engineers, the Northern Arapaho Tribe, Wyoming Indian High School, Northern Arapaho Tribal Housing, and Wind River Cares.
Sandra held a deep sense of duty to her community. She served on the Tribal Water Engineer Board, Fremont County School District #14 Board for over 20 years, the BOCES Board, and the St. Stephens Indian School Board (2022–present), as well as the St. Stephens Parish Board. An environmentalist and passionate advocate for education, she dedicated much of her life to improving the quality of life for her people.
She took great pride in her work as Deputy Administrator and Construction Project Manager for the Northern Arapaho Tribal Housing program, where she served for 20 years with unwavering commitment. Sandra was also highly dedicated to protecting tribal water rights, a cause close to her heart.
Sandra loved spending time outdoors—hunting, fishing, camping, and cooking. She enjoyed NHRA drag racing and visiting casinos. She was widely known for her delicious fried chicken and fried potatoes. An avid Denver Broncos fan, Sandra attended numerous games, including two Super Bowls where her beloved Broncos played. A talented sharpshooter, she took pleasure in target practice with her .348 rifle and handgun.
Softball was one of Sandra’s greatest passions. She coached and played on her women’s fast-pitch team, Michelob Lite, in Riverton and led the family co-ed team, Redwolf.
After retiring in 2023, Sandra devoted her time to cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren at their sports events—something that brought her immense joy and pride.
Sandra is survived by her children: daughters Polly C’Bearing, Aloysa (John) C’Bearing; sons Robert C’Bearing and Aloysius C’Bearing III; sisters Lisa Redman, Jessica Redman, and Pam Ten Fingers; brothers Gerald (Marcellia) Redman, Sr., George (Carma) Redman, Michael (Iva) Redman, Bill (Carrie) Paton, Galen HolyRock, Tom Brings, and Pete Swiftbird; godchildren Lane Hill and Gary Arthur; adopted children Naomi Harris, Bobbie Wells, Xavior Oats, Madeline Bitsie, Gary Brown, Cameron C’Bearing, David Gambler, Jr., and Valene Smith; grandchildren Jordan (Laniece), Amanda, Caleb, Taleah, Naliaah, Ali, Robert Jr., Aiyah C’Bearing, Ashley Addison, Jr., Devyn Gambler, Savannah, Madisyn, Tsani, Andre, Khalessi, Jionni Arneach, Annecia, Lorraine-Ann, Leigha Surrell, and Temiah Kaulaity; great-grandchildren Keen, Kacen, Jayla Abeyta, Huntleigh, Daleigha Brown, Oakley and Messiah C’Bearing; as well as numerous other family members of Redman, Harris, Underwood, Shakespeare, HeCrow, Brings Him Back, and Swiftbird.
