Sally Davis Rowe

Sally Davis Rowe Kaufman died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, of cancer complications at Help for Health Hospice in Riverton. She was 70 years old.
A celebration of life service and catered lunch will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 14, in the Little Wind Center at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton. Her friends are cordially invited.
Sally Rowe was born Nov. 5, 1942, in Warsaw, N.Y.
She attended the State University of New York at Genesco and earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish education. She later acquired a master's degree in Spanish. In her educational quest, she spent a semester in Puerto Rico and another summer in Mexico.
She married Rodney Rowe and spent 41 years with him before he died.
After she retired, she began taking riding lessons and eventually bought her quarter horse, Dilly.
She loved the West and dreamed of living on a ranch. She met her second husband, Perry Kaufman, on a website for fans of horses. They married June 26, 2011.
In 2012, she was the campaign chairwoman for Sherry Shelley's bid for the Legislature, and she served as the Fremont County committeewoman for the state Democratic Party.
Her family said she loved outdoor activities, including walking, birding and camping. She also enjoyed politics, knitting, dancing, kayaking, horse packing and riding her beloved Dilly.
She is survived by her four sons, Chris, Casey, Craig and Kevin, as well as her husband, Perry.
