In Loving Memory of Ruth Denola Schneider (Cowdin).She was born on May 4, 1919 in Hanna, Wyoming in her grandmothers home. She died on September 16, 2012 at her home on Lyon's Valley road.
A Visitation will be on Thursday, September 20, 2012, from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home, Lander, Wyoming. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 pm also at Hudson's Funeral Home.
Ruth grew up on the family ranch the Lazy Three Six in Leo, Wyoming. She rode to school on horse back, five miles each way. She raised her two younger brothers.
On November 19, 1936 in Casper, Wyoming she married Bill Schneider. They lived and worked on various ranches, and moved to Lamont in 1943, where she managed the Cresent Café until 1947. They then moved to Lander and bought the 184 Ranch in Lyon's Valley. During this time she began working at Safeway, where she worked for 17 years. After retiring her and her husband Bill traveled around the country, they especially loved traveling to Arizona. She loved to dance and went partying often. She celebrated her 90th birthday party at the VFW Club where she danced on the table. Her grandchildren called her GO GO – Granny.
Ruth is survived by 3 children; son, William (Cindy) of Lander; daughters, Hilda Johnson of Payson, Utah & Virginia (Dick) Christman of Casper; 9 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 brothers; great-granddaughter, Sunshine Moore; grandson, Richard Moore; and her beloved husband, Bill.
