Ronald Anderson Duncan, 70, of Lander, WY died on June 16th, 2017 at his home with his wife, Jean, by his side. Ron was born March 21, 1947 in Basin, WY to Clarence & Mae Duncan of Otto, WY. Ron grew up on a farm outside of Otto where his love for Wyoming and the outdoors began. He met his wife of nearly 49 years, Jean, while attending the University of Wyoming and they were married August 28th, 1968. Ron attended Patrol School in 1972 and was assigned to work in Lander which began his 27 years of service as a Wyoming Highway Patrolman. He made many lifelong friends with those he met within the community during his patrols and interactions while living in Lander. After retiring from the Patrol in 1999, Ron lived out his dream of working as a cowboy. From March 2013 to September 2014, Ron and his wife served a faithful mission for the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints in Nauvoo, IL. You could always find Ron outdoors spending time with friends and family or caring for his horses and other wildlife at his home. Ron will be missed by his wife, Jean; his 6 children Kirk (Kim), Mike (Jeanna), Fawn, Robyn, Heather, Brooke (Chris); His 16 grandchildren; and the many friends he made throughout his life. We will all miss his smiling face, positive attitude, hugs, and love.
Funeral services were held June 20th, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lander, WY. Graveside services were held the same day at the Otto Wyoming Cemetery.
