Raymond Keith Gustin

Long time Lander resident, Raymond Gustin passed away on October 21, 2016 at the Help for Health Hospice Home in Riverton, WY.Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Thursday, October 27, 2016 in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00am, Friday, October 28, 2016 in the Hudson's Funeral Home, Chapel of Mount Hope. Military Honors and burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
He was born September 28, 1920 in Hudson, WY to William Gustin and Rita (Gustin) Cook. He was the third child of ten.Raymond was a 1939 graduate of Fremont County Vocational High School.He joined the U.S.Navy the day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor and served for 4 years in the South Pacific. Returning from the service, he helped his family run the dude ranch in Dickinson Park.
In 1955, he married Catherine Gaylord at a ceremony at Josh Gaylord's home in Lander, WY.They lived in Casper, Lander and Fremont County.Raymond was a cowboy carpenter. He was a past commander of VFW Post 954.Ray and his wife, Cathey raised 4 children in the Pavillion area.
Some people will remember him for selling Christmas trees on Amoretti Street for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine Gustin; his children Mike (Julie) Gustin of Durango, CO; Barbara Gustin of Lander, WY; Jennice (Steve) Ivey of Olympia, WA and Susan (Dan) Pauli of Douglas, WY.Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; two sisters Deanna Hitshew of Lander & Bertie Wester of Buffalo, WY;two sister-in-laws Evelyn Gustin of Lander and Roseanna (Gaylord) Johnson of Boerne, TX ; one brother-in-law Gail (Lucille) White of Casper and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Joe Cook; three brothers Jim, Bill and George Gustin ; 4 sisters Wilma Hudson, Margie Voss, Phyllis White, Patty Smithers and grandson Joshua Gustin.
