Ray Stearns

January 29, 1946 — May 18, 2024

Ray C. Stearns a 78 year old Lander resident, passed away at his home, May 18, 2024. Ray was born in Greybull Wyoming to Clair and Elise (Zednick) Stearns. He grew up in Greybull and did some college in Sheridan Wyoming. From his first marriage, Ray had two children, Ann and Chris Stearns. Ray also gained two Step children with his second marriage. Liesa Sanderson Hill and Brandon Sanderson. And, later in his second marriage, he had two more children. Jeremy Stearns and Trisha Stearns kimsey. His employment history was mostly railroad line matenance, road construction (building bridges), and surveying/ drilling for bentonite. Ray was a very caring man and loved his family so much.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother Clair and Elise (Zednick) Stearns, his sister Linda Murray, Nephew Curtis Murray, his granddaughter Tairyn Stearns and his stepdaughter Liesa Hill.

Survivors include his wife Lenny, 5 Children, Ann Stearns of Cody Wyoming, Chris (Stephanie) Stearns of Thornton Colorado, Jeremy Stearns of Casper Wyoming, Trisha Kimsey of Lander Wyoming, and stepson Brandon Sanderson (Sarah) of Stirum North Dakota. 12 grandchildren, Brennan, Evan, Bailey, Cash, Cody, Wyatt, Hunter, Brookelynn, Aspen, Tristin, Blake and Sadie.

The funeral service will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 31, 2024, at Hudson's Funeral Home (Lander).
