Randolph Paul Duran Sr.

Randy passed away at his home in Arapahoe on Thursday, May 14, 2026. He was 71 years old. His Arapaho given name was Peyote Feather, meaning “Four Ridges of Life.” He was born in Riverton, Wyoming, on April 20, 1955, to Alfred Duran Sr. and Josephine Addison Lynch. His grandparents were Mary Aramajo Duran, Joseph Addison, and Susan Sitting Eagle.

Survivors include his daughters, Randi Jo Duran and Janelle Duran; adopted daughters, Lorenda Hanway, Dezirae Hanway, and Shereah Blackburn; sons, Nelson Duran Sr., John Duran, and Randolph Paul Duran Jr.; adopted sons, Donald Hanway, John Hanway, and Seth Blackburn; brothers, Newell Duran, Verdale Duran, and Alfred Duran Jr.; adopted brother, Evan Dean of Santa Fe, New Mexico; sisters, Norma Condlin, Morietta, Cori McAdams, Cassandra Duran, and Lisa Molash; Families of Hanway, Duran, Lawsons, Williams, Blackburns, Romans, Goodmans, Addison, Spoonhunters, and any families we may have left out during our time of grief.

He is preceded in death by his son, Randolph Joseph Duran; daughters, Rita Rose Duran and Alfreda Ann Duran; uncles, Joseph Duran, John Thomas Duran, and Steven Duran; aunts, Theresa Duran Roman, Alice Molash, Mary Herrera, Noreen Vigil, Lorene Medina, Catherine Blackburn-Hurley, and Genivieve Duran-Whiteplume; brothers, Ora Little, Kenneth Duran, Keller Duran Sr., Kincaid Duran, and Virgil Duran; nieces, Amanda Duran and Darlene Duran; and nephews, Gregory Duran and Sonny Duran.

A Rosary and wake will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Saint Stephen’s Indian Mission Catholic Church (33 St. Stephen's Rd., St. Stephen, WY 82524). The Rosary will conclude at 8:00 p.m., followed by an all-night wake at the family home (#1 Tobacco Rd., Arapahoe, WY 82524). The funeral service for Randolph Paul Duran Sr., “Randy,” will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the family home (#1 Tobacco Rd., Arapahoe, WY 82524), with Father Drew officiating.
