Priscilla Mae Chavez

Priscilla Mae Chavez died Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. She was 74 years old.
A visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete followed by a rosary and wake at 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at Blue Sky Hall. Burial will follow at Yellowcalf Cemetery. Funeral services are under the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home.

Priscilla Mae Chavez was born in Ethete, WY on February 24, 1940 to Mary Rose Chavez and William Friday. She was raised by her grandparents Grace and Joe Chavez. She got called home on Friday November 14, 2014 in Casper, WY at the Casper Medical Center.

She received her high school equivalency that she was very proud of.She was also the first Fremont County female bus driver. She also worked as a fire fighter, cook and summer school coordinator.

Priscilla was of the Mormon faith. She worked as a cook for the Arapaho Ranch for about 8 years. She also loved being a bus driver; she drove buses for numerous companies including Wyoming Indian and Arapaho School for about 40 years.

She enjoyed bingo, dancing, auctions, she also enjoyed traditional ceremonies. Most of all she enjoyed watching her favorite football team the San Francisco 49ers. She always had one of her grandchildren with her. She raised numerous grandchildren. She loved collecting Coca-Cola products and watching Law and Order on TV.

Priscilla Mae Chavez is survived by her seven children; Vanessa and William Burgess, Carlita and Gary Little Bird, Arvin Felter Jr., Jewell W. Felter, Geraldine and Burdick Seminole, Howard Felter, Rachel and Earnest Oldman Sr. She had thirty-two grandchildren and fifty eight great grandchildren. Sisters Jean Day, JuanitaStamp, Georgia Knighting, Ruby Whiteplume, Gloria Quiver, VelmaRhoades, Erma Groesback, Joyce Hutchinson. Brothers Isaac Sr.Chavez, and George Smith. Her uncle Joe Chavez. Nephew Rodney Candy Fire and niece Shelly Yates. She was also survived by Chavez, Quiver, Brown, Harris and Friday Families.

Priscilla was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents Joe and Grace Chavez, her sister Joann Yates. Her nephews Bruce, Isaac Jr. (Manny), Mervin Stamp Jr. and Wilby Candy Fire, Mike Friday; nieces Valarie Quiver, Valarie Spoonhunter. Her step-kids Gwen and Jewell Felter, Grandchildren Dawn Day, Stephanie Badhand and Micheal Headley. Her great-grandchildren Josiah and Jasmine Lee. Her brother Neroy Friday.
