Patricia Rose Anderson

Feb 26, 1936 — Aug 27, 2026

Our loving mother, Patricia Rose Anderson (Pat), passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Westward Heights Care Center.

Pat was born on February 26, 1936, in Los Angeles, California.

Pat married Dean LaRue Anderson on June 4, 1955, in North Platte, Nebraska. Dean and Pat had four children: Deanne, Kevin, Vickie, and Scott.

The love of Pat’s life was her best friend and husband, Dean. Dean preceded Pat in death, passing away on April 5, 2023.

Dean and Pat coincidentally shared the same birthday, February 26, although Dean was born one year earlier, in 1935.

Pat was raised by her grandmother, Rose Lewis, on a farm in Nebraska. It was therefore not surprising that Pat rode to school each day on her horse, Babe.

Throughout her career, Pat worked as a switchboard operator and managed a café, but for most of her working life (more than 40 years) she ran a day care out of her home. She operated the first licensed and registered day care in Lander.

Pat, Dean, and their children lived in North Platte, Nebraska, on at least three occasions, as well as on three different ranches outside Gunnison, Colorado. The last 56 years were spent in Lander, Wyoming.

Mom’s superpower was her card ministry. She sent handwritten cards filled with stickers, poems, and sayings she had collected to friends, family members, and church members for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, get-well wishes, and other special occasions. It was always a joy to receive a special card from Pat.

It was second nature for Pat to open her home and her heart to anyone in need. On several occasions, the family hosted other families in their home “until they got their footing,” as Mom would say.

Pat’s greatest love was her faith. She loved the Lord, and she loved her church family. She taught Bible classes, served in Ladies Ministries, and was a dedicated volunteer whenever help was needed.

Pat and Dean leave behind their four children: Deanne Anderson of Lander, Wyoming; Kevin Anderson; Vickie and her husband, Ed Bass, of Missoula, Montana; and Scott and his wife, Terrie, of Lander, Wyoming.

They also leave behind their grandchildren: Andy Anderson of Lander, Wyoming; Sarah Gantenbein and her husband, Keith, of Riverton, Wyoming; Laura Jo and her husband, Pablo Sanchez, of Santiago, Chile; and Kevin Bass and his wife, Soojung, of Carlsbad, California; as well as their great-grandchildren, Brianna and Wyatt of Lander, Wyoming; Kaden of Laramie, Wyoming; Emma of Riverton, Wyoming; Daisy and Lili of Santiago, Chile; and Mila of Carlsbad, California.

Pat will be missed so very much and will always be remembered for her love of children, her generosity, her faith, and the kindness she showed to others.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at the Lander Church of Christ, 1320 Sinks Canyon Road, Lander, Wyoming. A meal will follow the service at the church.
