Noland Patrick WallowingBull, Sr. 57, of Ethete passed away on May 6, 2016.An evening service will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Blue Sky Hall, Ethete.A wake will follow at #5 Farm Station Road in Ethete.Episcopal Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Blue Sky Hall and interment will follow at Wallowingbull Cemetery.
Noland Patrick WallowingBull, Arapaho name "Ho3o Ceesei'oo", Bright Star was born on August 9, 1958 in Fort Washakie, Wyoming to JoePat Wallowing Bull and Nola Looks Twice.Noland attend schools in Manderson, South Dakota, Flandreau Indian School, and graduated from Wyoming Indian High School.He worked for Wyoming Indian schools, Arapaho Ranch and Ethete Headstart.
Noland was a strong believer in his traditional ways.He was a member of the Native American Church, the Crow Dance Society, and attended family sweats.
He also liked playing cards and dice, going to the casinos, hanging out with all his nephews, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.Noland enjoyed helping at the Arapaho Ranch with Shannon Brown.He spent a lot of his later years helping his good friend, Leo Willow.
Noland is survived by his children, Nolita, Jola, Noland Jr., and William Wallowing Bull; adopted mother, Irma Groesbeck; aunt, Joyce Hutchinson; grandfather, Billy Jumping Eagle, Sr.; brothers, Robert, William, Jr. and Jason Kills Enemy, Shannon Brown, Clarence Brown, Leo Willow, Norman Willow, Sr., and Joseph "Magpie," Wallowing Bull.; sisters, Jolene Iron, Carolyn (Kay) Gould, and Faye Kills Enemy; Ceremonial Grandfather, Bill Blind; grandchildren, Jolynn Fighting Bear, Kylene Fighting Bear, Alondra Fighting Bear, Jaron Wallowing Bull, Kir'a Marie Wallowing Bull, and Cloudy Jade Wallowing Bull; adopted daughters, Carla Yellowman, Whitney Crazy Thunder, and Lerae Brown; and the WallowingBull, Looks Twice, Groesbeck, Kills Enemy, Brown, Hutchinson, and Jumping Eagle Families.
He was preceded in death by his father JoePat Wallowing Bull, his mother Nola Looks Twice; brothers, Nelson Morris, Richard and David Kills Enemy; sons, Brandon James Wallowing Bull and Ernie Chingman; adopted father, Felix Groesbeck; and nephew, Sonny Duran.
