Morris Aagard, of Lander, died in Lander March 27, 2015 in the Westward Heights Care Center. A Funeral Service has been arranged for on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 10:00 am in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints corner of S. 6th and Cascade in Lander. Burial will be later that afternoon 3:00 pm in the Burlington Cemetery, Burlington, Wyoming.
Morris Aagard was born September 3, 1925 and died March 27, 2015 at the age of 89 at Westward Heights Care Center in Lander Wyoming.
Morris was born 1 of 12 children in Burlington Wyoming to James and Annie Aagard.
He is survived by his wife Mona Aagard, his daughter Kathy Dunsworth, three sisters;Ann Winters, Beatrice Davidson, and Nadine Keeley, 7 Grandchildren; Tina Johnson, Allen Aagard, Tiffany Child, Heather Jimenez, Brad Dunsworth, Jan Allen, and Mindi Dunsworth, and 15 great grandchildren.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, his son David Aagard, and grandson Todd Dunsworth.
Morris married his wife of 68 years, Mona Mann of Redlodge, Montana on September 9th, 1946.
They spent the first years of their life on a ranch in Belgrade Montana and then many years on a ranch in Burlington Wyoming where Morris served as Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints for 8 years. They then moved to Springville, UT where they managed a motel and a furniture repair business. Next they moved to Lander Wyoming where he lived out the rest of his life.While in Lander he taught himself how to make Aspen vases which he sold at craft fairs.He also was a successful gardener.
Morris was raised by a hardworking ranching family and the work ethic carried through his entire life, but Morris would always stop his own work to help others, and is known by everyone as a loving and generous man.He touched our lives in a special way and will be greatly missed by all.
