Mona Jean Mann Aagard

December 16, 1923 — February 19, 2018

Mona Jean Mann Aagard, 94, of Lander, Wyoming passed away on February 19, 2018 at the Westward Heights Care Center in Lander. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. " 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25th at the Chapel of Mount Hope in Hudsons Funeral Home in Lander. Graveside will take place on Monday, February 26th at the Burlington Cemetery in Burlington, WY. As per Monas request, the Visitation and Graveside will be the only Services.

Mona Jean Mann was born December 16, 1923 in Woods Cross Utah to Moroni Hatch Mann and Cynthia Elva Waddoups. She was the 6th of 7 children. The family moved to Red Lodge, Montana when she was 2 years old and the rest of her childhood was spent in Red Lodge. According to her, it was the perfect place to grow up. From a young age she roamed freely and had great adventures. She loved ice skating, skiing, and dancing.

Mona graduated from High School and went to BYU in 1942. Later, she went to the University of Wyoming where she met Morris Aagard. They eloped to Columbus, Montana and were married there September 9, 1946. That January, they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple.
On November 5, 1947, they welcomed a baby daughter Kathleen, and two years later October 13, 1949 their family was complete with the arrival of David. Morris and Mona raised their children on their ranch in Burlington, Wyoming. Mona was a hard worker and participated with all aspects of running the ranch.

Mona was active in her church and community and held many positions throughout her life. She continued her desire to be involved even in her later years. At Westward Heights, she was active in their resident group.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, and four sisters, son David Aagard, and grandson Todd Dunsworth. She is survived by her daughter Kathy Dunsworth (John), daughter-in-law Linda Aagard, grandchildren, Brad Dunsworth (Eliza), Jan Allen, Mindi Dunsworth (Joe), Tina Johnson (Eric), Alan Aagard (Kristin), Tiffany Child (JR), and Heather Aagard, fifteen great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mona loved her family with all her heart and was always there to support and help. She will be missed.
