Mervin "Jim" James Hedges Jr.

Mervin James Hedges Jr. 73, Lander, Wyoming, passed away on February 19, 2025.  Most knew him as Jim Hedges and he was well known in the county for his 45 years of working for Fremont County Transportation Department.  Over the years his experience made him the," Go to Guy", for any and all problems that arose.

Jim was born on August 13, 1952 to Mervin and Rosalynn Hedges in Lander, Wyoming.  Jim resided in Lander for all his years after marrying his high school sweetheart Sandra Dawn Eckhardt on July 13, 1973.  Their love for the great outdoors and raising animals brought them many adventures over the years.  For a long while the family knew them as Aunt Sandy and Uncle Jimmy.  But their greatest love for life joined them on December 2, 1991 with the birth of their son Hart James Hedges. Jim and Sandy enjoyed every minute raising Hart and it showed.

Jim was predeceased by Sandra Dawn Hedges, Kathleen Daniels-Hedges, Gary Lee Hedges, Rosalynn Hedges, and Mervin Jasper Hedges Sr.

Survivors include his son, Hart James Hedges, sister-in-law, Linda Hedges; nephews, Ryan  Hedges, Logan Hedges and Clarke Daniels; nieces, Brandy Taylor and Jessica Toups; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In honor of their love for hospitality and always having an open-door policy for family and friends, a celebration of life gathering will be held this coming summer with the date to be determined.
