Medore Henry Lussier

Funeral services for Lander, Wyo. Resident Medore Lussier was held on Friday, September 16, 2011 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. with Father Dave Erickson officiating. Medore died on Monday, September 12, 2011 at Lander Regional Hospital in Lander at the age of 90.
Medore Henry Lussier was born on September 20, 1920 on the family farm in Popular River Township Near the town of Brooks in Red Lake County Minnesota to Arthur and Mary Anne (Champagne) Lussier.He married Geneva Bernice Rock on April 17, 1941 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne, Minnesota.During WWII, Medore served in the army in the Battle of the Bulge handling communications.After WWII the family settled in Brooks, Minnesota and in 1951 they moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota where Medore worked for US Steel Corporation.In 1962 US Steel transferred him to Lander, Wyoming where he lived out the rest of his life.
Medore loved to travel and work in his woodworking shop.He was a member of the Elks Club, VFW, Legion, Knights of Columbus. He also served as the Treasurer of the local United Steel Workers of Am. Union.
Medore is survived by brothers Theodore Alpha from Grand Rapids, MN and LaVern (Jim) Lussier from Summerville, S.C.; sisters Madonna Asselin from Wisc., Marjorie Riendeau from Grand Rapids, MN, and Jeanne (Larry) O'neill from Oklee, MN; daughter Lynette Marie Lussier; sons Gary Medore (Bonnie) Lussier, Wayne Allen (Nancy) Lussier, Bryon James (Toni) Lussier, Randy Ray (Kathy) Lussier, and Jay Robin (Karen) Lussier; eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and Long Time Friend, Marcy Jenny.
His parents; older sisters Mable Lussier and Cora Wicklander; older brothers Arthur Lussier and Leon Leonard Lussier; younger sisters Bernice Bushy, Pearl Rivard, and Permela Ann Bruggeman; younger brother Ralph Joseph Lussier and his son Gregory Lee Lussier preceded him in death.
