Mary Eloise (Louise) Mayhew

April 27, 1928 — November 19, 2017

Mary E. (Louise) Mayhew was born April 27, 1928 in Huntington, West Virginia to John and Sallie Meadows Lemings. She spent part of her youth in Chester, West Virginia. In 1951 she married Reason Mayhew of Georgetown, Pennsylvania where they spent their lives together raising their family. She worked at Homer Laughlin China Company in Newell, West Virginia until she retired in 1988.
She always had a beautiful, professional quality singing voice that she used to sing for her church, family, and friends. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved birds, traveling, people, and all animals. She spent years pet sitting for people in this area, plus fed strays and took treats to the dogs awaiting homes at Pet Connection.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Reason; father, John; mother, Sallie; sister, Mildred Robb; and brother Glenn Lemings. She is survived by her sister, Joann Brewer of Georgetown, Pennsylvania; her son and his wife, Gary and Carol Mayhew of Bear, Delaware; daughter and her husband Virginia (Jenny) and Rick Wright of Lander, Wyoming; three grandchildren; Gary Reason, Shannon, Stephanie, and four great-grandchildren; Bobby, Evelyn, Abby, and Katie along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on November 20, 2017 at Hudsons Funeral Home. Her remains will be buried next to her husband at the Bethel Cemetery in Georgetown, Pennsylvania at a later date in 2018.
