Mary Alice Doney-Redman

Mary Alice Doney-Redman passed away peacefully at her home in Ethete, Wyoming on July 20, 2015.She was born to Rose Shyface-Doney and Tom Doney in Wolf Point, Montana on December 11, 1942.She married Alfred Redman, Sr. on November 8, 1965.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 24, 2015, 10 am at the Elk Redman Memorial Complex .Rosary will be held Thursday, July 23, 7pm at Elk Redman Memorial Complex, with a wake to follow at the family residence, 445 Ethete Road.Burial will be at the Sage-Redman Cemetery.
Mary Alice was raised on the family ranch in Wiota, Montana.She attended schools in Nashua, Montana and Stephan, South Dakota.She graduated from the Billings Business College and worked for BIA and IHS for a number of years.She then went to work with Wyoming Indian Schools for 21 years.She was very fond of the kids at the Early Head Start in Ethete, where she was a foster Grandparent during her retirement.She enjoyed spending her time making Star Quilts, sewing, eating at the Oxbow and going to the casino.She loved sitting on her deck with her cats, looking at her flowers, listening to and watching the birds.Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the lights of her life.
She is survived by her husband.Her brothers Jim Doney, John (Bobbi) Doney, Sisters Frances Eagleman, Cheryl (Ron) Barnhart.Brother-in-law Hubert Redman, Sisters-in-law, Lucy Willow and Alvena Oldman.Her son John, daughters Josie (Darnell) and Tessa (Larry).Her grandchildren Jacob Posey, John, Jr, Kristina, Tom Elk, Tianna, Josie, JayceMarie, Darrius, Tommie and Larry Jr.Great-grandchildren Kaydan, Layla, Bayleigh-Ann, Jaelle, Jayshawn, Russell and Aaliyah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a Big Sister Marian Doney, son Alfred Redman, Jr, daughter Mary Frances Redman, and Grandson Henry Standing Elk III.
