Marven Eugene Cachelin, 63, passed away at Lander Regional Hospital on the morning of June 9, 2012 from a battle with cancer.
Marven was born to Urban Edward Cachelin & Bernetta Genieve Nelson on March 7, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska. Marven's family moved to Ethete during his elementary school years.He was a graduate of Lander Valley High School in 1968.During Marven's senior year of high school he was involved in an hunting accident where he was shot and cared for at Lander Valley Medical Center with a lot of community support.
He married Pauline Beatrice Lopez on March 12, 1970 in Lander, Wyoming at the Nazarene Church.His life will be remembered and honored June 15, 2012 at Hudson funeral home in Lander.Public viewing will start at 10:00 A.M. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00.Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lander. A reception will be held afterwards at the ProngHorn Hotel in the Monarch room at 1:00 P.M. for all of Marven's family and friends.
Marven is survived by his wife Pauline Cachelin and his two sons; Michael and his wife Morgan of Green River, and Thomas and his wife Janelle of Lititz, PA.He is also survived by his mother Bernetta Goodrich of Lander, sister Cindy Deshaw of Lander, brother Terry Cachelin and his wifeKathy of Lander, sister Linda Sutherland and husband Steve of Thermopolis, brother David Cachelin of Canada, and sister Karen Good and husband David of Lander.Marven has four grandchildren, Megan, Carsen, Benjamin, and Madelyn.

Marven was a life long resident of Fremont County, Wyoming.He lived in various townsites throughout Fremont county including Ethete, Pavillion, Kinnear, and Lander.
He worked in the oil and gas industry for his entire adult life for 44 years and as a rig manager for Unit Drilling Company for the past six years.Marven was a man of few words whose defining quality was his exceptional work ethic. He earned the respect from all that knew or worked with him.This caring and devoted husband and father will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
