Marlin Belnap Ross

January 27, 1957 — November 8, 2017

Marlin Belnap Ross, born on January 27, 1957 in Ogden, UT, son of Dr. Aaron Belnap Ross & Elma Hall Belnap Ross, died November 8, 2017 at the age of 60 due to complications after having pneumonia in Lander, WY.
Marlin was best known for his amazing talent on the ski slopes.At the age of 15 he was a member of the US Ski Team Alpine/Downhill.Marlin skied professionally for years and later he became a ski instructor in Park City, UT.Marlin loved the outdoors, fishing and playing his guitar.
In March of 1977 he had his first head injury while skiing he hit a tree and was in a coma for 5 days.In June of 1996 he had his second head injury as a pedestrian he was hit by a car.After his second head injury he lived in many different nursing homes and places with the longest stays at Sunshine Terrace in Logan, UT and his last home at the Wyoming Life Resource Center (WLRC) in Lander, WY.
He was loved by all that knew him and cared for him and will be deeply missed by ALL.
He is survived by his six children; Tonya Farr (Jedd) of Riverdale, UT, Tyler Ross (Jeremy) of Casper, WY, from his 1st marriage to Marianne Jerome (Don) of Toledo, OR.Micah Wilson (Jim) of Ogden, UT, Preston Ross (Cristina) of Spanish Fork, UT, Sterling Ross (Georgia) of Flagstaff, AZ and Sydney Tingey (Jared) of Duchesne, UT, from his 2nd marriage to Tamara Ross of Mechanicsville, MD.12 grandchildren; Dalton, Brayden, Corben, Lauren, Aubree, Isaac, Levi, Jake, Andrew, Frida, Maddie & Zach and 1 great-grandchild; Acacia.
Also surviving are his sister Sandra Shupe (Ted) of West Valley City, UT, Dr. Calvin Ross (Gail) of San Juan Capistrano, CA, & a sister in law JoAnne Ross of Salt Lake City, UT, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad in 1973 & his mom in 1995, one brother Aaron Larry Ross in 1969. and one sister Bonnie Ross in 1962.
There will be a celebration of life service on Monday, November 13th at the WLRC in the All Faith Chapel at 2:00pm.There will be a service held in Ogden, UT at a later date to be determined and he will be laid to rest in the Washington Heights Memorial Cemetery with his family at that time.Condolences may be sent to the family to tylerross307@gmail.com.
