Marisa Spoonhunter

Marisa Chenoa Spoonhunter "Rissy" "Spoonz" was born on May 20 ^th 1996 in Bismarck, North Dakota to Vern Ivan Spoonhunter, Sr. and Bernadette Lucy Spoonhunter. Her Indian name was Singing In The Mountain, which was given to her by her great grandmother, Mary E. Bear. Prayer service to be held at the Wyoming Indian Middle School, April 12, 2010 at 7PM with visitation from 5 pm to 9pm and Funeral Services April 13, 2010, 10:00am at the Blue Sky Hall in Ethete, WY. Under  the direction of Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander, WY.

Marisa grew up in Ethete, WY on the Wind River Indian Reservation. Marisa had also lived on the flathead Indian reservation in Pablo, Montana from 2000 to 2003 and attended Ethete headstart and Wyoming Indian elementary and middle schools where she was currently in the eighth grade. Marisa enjoyed playing volleyball and basketball for the Lady Chiefs. She was looking forward to attending High School and often said she couldn't wait to play high school basketball. Marisa enjoyed hanging out with her friends, playing with her little brothers, driving around with big brother and big sister, texting with friends, and being with her cousins. She always looked forward to camping at the Sundance in her teepee. She showed a great interest in learning how to sing powwow and hand drum songs and wanted to begin Jingle Dress dancing again with her sister Kylee.

Marisa was very beautiful girl, she was kind hearted, nice, shy, had a great sense of humor, friendly, and was a wonderful sister, daughter and friend. She will be greatly missed forever.

She is survived by her parents, brothers, Bobby, Vern Jr., Chief Joseph and sister, Chelsea, grandparents, John Earl Willow Jr., and Elizabeth Four Bear, Winona White Plume, great grandparents, Lucy Willow, Mary Bear, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members and friends, her special friend Clarence Aragon Jr.

Marisa was preceded in death by her brother, Bryan Elliott Willow, Uncle John E. Willow III, great grandfather John E Willow Sr., grandfather Robert Joe "Booby" Spoonhunter, great grandparents, Verna Loneman, Robert and Adeline Armour, great grandfather Calvin Yellow Bear Sr.
