Long time Lander resident, Marion Hill, age 79, died peacefully on November 4th, 2012 at the Help For Health Hospice Center in Riverton, WY after a brief battle with cancer.
Marion was born February 11, 1933, at the family home in Mt. Iron, Minnesota, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel Terrio.
Marion thoroughly enjoyed fellowship with her friends and church members. She loved reading, and was an excellent seamstress. Spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren was always high on her priority list and brought her great joy.Marion graduated from Mt. Iron High school in Minnesota.
In 1954, Marion married Robert G. Hill and in 1962 she, her husband and 4 young children moved to Wyoming following a transfer by her husband's employer, US Steel
After raising their 4 children Marion was employed, first with the telephone company and later with the Fremont County Treasurer's Office, where she worked until retirement.
Marion attended the Independent Baptist Church in Lander Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Mabel Terrio; her husband, Robert G. Hill and her sister Geraldine Pernu of Rochester, MN. She is survived by her sisters, Betty and her husband Roger Duininck; Becky and her husband Lyle Widboom; son Robert A. Hill and wife Marie of Eugene, Oregon; son Leighton Hill and wife Barbara of Rock Springs, WY; daughter Valerie Lawrence of Riverton, WY; son Jon Hill and wife Sheila of Rock Springs, WY. Marion had 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander WY, Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.A fellowship will follow with friends and family will follow at the Warbonnett Room in the Best Western Motel 260 Grand View Dr., Lander, WY.
