Madlene Lopez

March 4, 1930 — August 3, 2009

Madlene Lopez slipped away from us in the early hours of August 3, 2009 at the Wind River Rehabilitation Facility in Riverton. She was 79.


Madlene was born in Colmor, New Mexico to Juan and Beatrice Sedillo on March 4, 1930. She married Ray Lopez on October 22, 1947 in Raton New Mexico.


A long time Lander resident, she moved here from New Mexico, where she worked in health care in Las Vegas. She also worked for years at Lander's Bishop Randall Hospital as a nurses aide, full time, and at the same time being a full time mom for their six children.


At home she taught discipline, swimming, driver's education, kindness, and love for others.


She is survived by her husband, Ray Lopez of Lander; daughter, Rosie (Bill) Bartholomew of Lander; son, Ray (girlfriend Janet) Lopez Jr. of Lander; son, Richard (Patti) Lopez of Lander; Daughter, Pauline (Marven) Cachelin of Lander; son, Joseph Lopez from St. Peter, Minnesota; and daughter, Susan (Mark)McDonald of Green River, Wyoming.


Madlene left behind the hurting hearts of six children, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren.


Visitation will be Monday morning, August 10, 2009 in the Chapel of Mount Hope, Hudson's Funeral Home, in Lander from 9:00am – 11:00am. The Funeral Service will then begin at 11:00am at Hudson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.
