Lyle "Chuck" T. Cleavenger

Lyle T. (Chuck) Cleavenger, 89, passed away at his home in Lander, Wyoming Sunday, September 13th 2015. He had a peaceful transition with his Lander grandchildren by his side.Funeral Services will be held September 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lander officiated by pastor Scott MacNaughton. Visitation will be held at Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Born to Claude and Mabel Cleavenger in Dickinson, North Dakota in 1926.He married Frances Peterson on May 5, 1945. They lived in Granville, North Dakota where he started a lifelong career with Standard Oil Company. The couple was blessed with four children. In 1960 the company transferred him to Belfield, North Dakota where he worked until he retired in 1976. Upon retirement, Chuck and Frances continued to enjoy traveling the United States and Canada and Mexico until finally landing in Lander in 1979. They immediately joined C.P.C.. He was an avid fisherman, hunter; an all-around outdoor fanatic. Loved his horses which he had many over his time. Chuck is a veteran of the United States Army having been stationed in Germany.

He is survived by daughters, Gail Grass of Riverton, Wyoming, Karen (Wes) Lawson of San Tan Valley, Arizona, Faye (Robert) Long of Newport, Vermont; son, Kevin Cleavenger of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived bygrandchildren; Joan (Tom) Sawyer of Lander, Wyoming, Ryan Kessel of Lander, Wyoming, Robyn (Terry) Atnip of Lander, Wyoming, Cristina Valentine of Chandler, Arizona, Carrie Patterson of Cabot, Vermont, and David Long of Boulder, Colorado, great-grandchildren; Michael Sawyer, Chad Sawyer, Andrew Arredondo, Adam Arredondo and great-great grandson Avi Patterson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brent Lyle Valentine and his wife Frances of 65 years.
