Lucille Ares Oldham
Lucille Ares Oldham was born on November 21, 1919 in Crookston, Minnesota to Carl Sabin and Marjorie Courtney. She died April 8, 2009 at the Sublette Care Center in Pinedale, Wyoming at the age of 89.
Lucille moved to Lander from the Grass Creek area in 1932 to attend the Fremont County Vocational School, graduating in 1936. She married Charles H. Oldham on June 11, 1941 in Lander, Wyoming. Together they ranched in the Lyons Valley and Fort Washakie Areas until the late 1950's.
Lucille was then a contract mail carrier to the Wind River Reservation for 34 years, retiring in 1988. She lived in Lander until 2002, when she moved to Pinedale to be close to her daughter, Charleen Tracy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles in 1987; son, Tony Oldham; daughter, Nancy Cottam; granddaughter, Kyann Cottam.
She is survived by daughter, Charleen (Bob) Tracy of Big Piney; grandson, Dwayne (Denise) Oldham of Lander, Wyoming; granddaughter, Diana Oldham of Helena, Montana; grandson, Nolan Tracy of Greybull, Wyoming; granddaughter, Dawn Tracy of Big Piney, Wyoming; grandson, Adam Tracy of Big Piney; grandson, Jim Cottam of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services were conducted by Paul Morrison on April 13, 2009 at 10:00am in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander.
