Lonnie Gene Sutter, 61, of Lander, Wyoming, died on April 1 at the Showboat Retirement Center in Lander, Wyoming.
The memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Dr., Lander, WY 82520.
Lonnie was born on October 13, 1964, to Mason Sutter and Elva Eaton in Denver, Colorado.
Lonnie moved to Lander in 1966 with his family. He graduated from LVHS in 1984. While in school, he participated in wrestling and swimming. He could be found either at the river or the swimming pool during his school years. He worked at several state park resorts in Arizona, Oregon, Vermont, and Wyoming. He started at Jackson Lake Lodge around 1983 during the summer and at Togwotee Mountain Lodge during the winter until the early 2000s, when his health made it difficult to continue. He was very proud of his work and the friendships he gained, especially at Jackson Lake Lodge.
Lonnie loved the outdoors, especially the mountains. He was very proud to be president of the Residential Council at Showboat. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend, neighbor, or family member.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother, Elva Trujillo; father, Mason Sutter; sister, Terri Spraggins; grandmother, Velma Eaton; grandfather, Ed Eaton; stepfather, John Trujillo; and his uncle, Frank Eaton.
He is survived by his sister, Michele Sutter; uncle, Robert Eaton; several cousins and extended family from the Trujillo family; and the many, many friends he made over the years.
