Lois Evelyn Killion was born on February 16, 1923 in Valentine, NE to Charles and Emma (Langston) Prugh. She attended school in the area and married Thomas James Killion on September 27, 1939. Two years later, the couple's first son Robert (Bob) was born.
Mrs. Killion worked as a rural mail carrier until 1946. That year the Killions moved to the Big Horn Basin of Wyoming, where they had two more children, Daniel and Emma Jean. In 1962, she graduated from Lander Beauty School and started Lois' Beauty Shop in the Hallam Building on Lincoln Street. She ran the business for 24 years until retiring in 1986.
After retirement, Lois enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crafting, doing crossword puzzles, sewing and crocheting. In 1985, she began painting and soon began winning awards for her western landscapes and portraiture. She was also an avid church goer and member of the "After 5" club of Lander.
As Tom's health declined, Lois spent more time at home caring for him. After he died in 2006, she moved to Nampa, ID to live with her son Robert.
