Funeral services for Wind River Indian Reservation resident Lloyd Edmund Tillman, Sr. were Friday morning, Feb. 12, at the Fort Washakie Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment followed at the Sacajawea Cemetery in Fort Washakie.
Evening services and wake took place at Rocky Mountain Hall Thursday evening, Feb. 9.
Lloyd E. Tillman, Sr. died on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo. He was 74
He was born on Feb. 21, 1935 to Marjorie (Hebah) and Henry Tillman in Fort Washakie. He attended school in Fort Washakie. He spent his youth with his grandmother, Dolly Hebah, and his aunt Bessie and uncle Luke Tidzump.
His children, Darlene, Lloyd Edmund Jr. Tillman and Ivan Lynn Kniffin were born to first wife Leah Aragon. His late second wife Fern (Hurtado) had children, Diana, Jimmy, Sylvia, Elaine, Neal, Winston and Camilla Tillman. His marriage with Delores (Hurtado) had children, Arlo and Katherine Tillman.
The family said Mr. Tillman in his earlier days enjoyed participating in rodeo activities, breaking horses and being in the sundance. They said he especially enjoyed his job as a Fish and Game aide and being in the mountains.
He is survived by his wife, Delores, and children, Lloyd Tillman, Jr. and Jerry, Neal Tillman and Colleen, Camilla Tillman and Katherine Tillman, and Leo Barnaby; brothers, Benny Tillman, Lee Tillman and Flora and Leland Tillman; sisters, Zelda, Sandra Tillman and Patricia McLeod; numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; aunts, Lizzie Panzetanga and Zella Sorrels.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; his mother, Marjorie; daughters, Darlene, Diana, Sylvia and Elaine Tillman; sons, Ivan Kniffin, Jimmy, Winston and Arlo Tillman; grandsons, Duane Day and Jonathan Tillman; brothers, Franklin Tillman, Sr., Ruben Tillman; sisters, Louise Tillman, Adrienne Tillman; his grandparents, Dolly (Timbana) and Wallace Hebah, Robert and Nellie (Washakie) Tillman.
Arrangements were by Hudson's Funeral Home of Lander.
