Linda Louise Sturman passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and her precious dog Bella, on June 18th, 2026, at the age of 78.
Linda was born in Torrington, WY, on October 14th, 1947, to Donald and Eilene Schwab. She was the oldest of two children. Her early childhood was spent in Gurnsey, WY, on the family’s ranch. She attended school in Guernsey until moving to Lusk, WY, where she attended high school. She participated in 4H and was a member of Job’s Daughters. While living in Lusk, she met her husband, Harold Sturman, while working at a local café. Soon after the meeting, Harold joined the Army, and when he returned a couple of years later, he saw Linda walking out of a Job's Daughters meeting. He shouted out of a car window: “I’m going to marry that girl!” Linda married Harold on April 2nd, 1965. Later that year, they welcomed their first child, Charity, into the world in Cheyenne, WY. Linda and Harold later welcomed their second child, Ben, into the world in 1968. He was the Lander New Year's baby of that year. Their third child, William, was born in Billings, MT, in December of 1972. In the children’s younger years, they moved between Montana and Wyoming several times. Eventually, they settled in Laurel, MT. Over the years, Linda had a variety of careers. Linda had several hobbies, including sewing, cooking, crocheting, swimming, and reading, and she was on a bowling league for many years. You could always find Linda at the baseball fields keeping score and cheering on her children. Linda was happiest wherever her children and Harold were. Linda and Harold retired to Joliet, MT, in 2004. While in Joliet, Linda and Harold spent years raising registered quarter horses. They were Linda's pride and joy. In 2023, Linda and Harold moved to Lander, WY, to be near family. Linda loved being near her grandchildren and being able to watch their sporting events and accomplishments.
Shortly after Harold's passing, Linda adopted her dog Bella, who became her constant companion.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Sturman; her parents, Donald and Eilene Schwab; and her granddaughter, Chelsea Raidiger.
She was survived by her daughter Charity Sturman of Lander, WY, sons Ben(Rebecca)Sturman of Tucson, AZ, William(Kate)Sturman of Stephenville, TX, sister Cindy Stephenson of Lander, WY, grandchildren Tiffany Sturman of Lander, WY, Alexis Sturman of Stephenville, TX, Cody Sturman of Tucson, AZ, Melissa Raidiger of Tucson, AZ, great grandchildren Riley Fisk, Caleb Snetcher, Tatum Snetcher, Dani Snetcher, Easton Sturman all of Lander, WY, nieces Mandi(Ron)Bush of Lander, WY, Kristie(Derrick)Kesy of Grand Junction, CO, great nieces Tasia(John)Juoni and children of Lander, WY, Kelsie Stephenson of Grand Junction, CO, Kinzleigh Kesy of Grand Junction, CO, great nephews Preston Bush of Lander, WY, Kaiden Kesy of Grand Junction, CO, and her beloved dog Bella.
