Linda Beth Shipley, 56, of Lander, WY died at her home on April 12, 2017. Beth was born April 6, 1961 to Arnold and Lucy Killen in Nashville, TN. After high school she attended Harding University for several years before moving to Kansas City, where she met Bill Shipley, who she married on January 2, 1982. The two moved to Lander, Wyoming where they raised a family.
Beth enjoyed helping with the local after-school tutoring program "Lights On" as well as serving meals in the schools' lunchroom. She had a heart for service, regularly volunteering at the Lander Care and Share Food Bank, visiting and caring for her elderly and sick friends, and teaching Bible classes at the Lander Church of Christ. Spending time with her grandkids on family vacations was one of her favorite activities, as was raising her numerous animals. She particularly enjoyed taking her dogs on long walks. Additionally, she helped found the Fremont County Symphony, and played her cello with the symphony regularly.
Beth is survived by her husband Bill; daughter and son-in-law Rachel and James Fisk; son and daughter-in-law David and Jennifer Shipley; son Benjamin Shipley; parents Arnold and Lucy Killen; sister and brother-in-law Susan and Kerry McKeever; and sister and brother-in-law Laura and David Brock.
A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the Lander Church of Christ.
