Karen Elise Rowe, 73, of Lander went to be with Jesus on February 2nd, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer at the Help for Health Hospice in Riverton.
She was born August 26th, 1944 to Carl Edwin and Irene Olga (Buchs) Stenquist in Stamford, Connecticut. She married Jimmy R. Rowe on April 18th, 1962 and was divorced 1997.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Sheryl) Rowe of Boise, Idaho, Andrew Rowe of Riverton, Wyoming, her brother Bruce (Monique) Stenquist of Southport, North Carolina, and grandchildren Erica Rowe, Evander Rowe, Michael Moore and Nicholas Moore and numerous nieces and nephews.
Karen was a career nurse and worked in hospitals in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Wyoming and Idaho as well as a home health nurse in North Carolina and Wyoming. She was a devout Christian and an ordained minister. She served a Christian mission in Alacante, Spain in 1998. Karen had several lifelong friends who were very loyal to her throughout her life. After retiring from nursing, she loved visiting her family, spending time with her church community and taking care of her grandson, Evander.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 am at the Word of Faith Family Church at 515 S. 2nd Street, Lander. The service will be followed by a lunch.
