Julia Lee Long (Higinbotham) was born May 1, 1952 in Lander, WY and left this earth July 29, 2021 in the arms of her cherished husband. Julia was born to Daniel Higinbotham and Carol J Mann although she was raised by her father and stepmother Virginia Higinbotham.
Julia grew up in Lander but always dreamed of living in The Big Apple so she moved to New York City where she met her children's father. They lived in Long Island for several years before the urge of going back home where she could be closer to family brought her back to Wyoming. Julia worked several different jobs but the one she took most pride in was Lead Custodian at Central Wyoming College where she retired. She met and married the love of her life Nolan D Long and lived happily for 31yrs. Nolan and Julia had a life full of adventure, moving to Phoenix, AZ and Laramie, WY but eventually wandered back to Lander where she lived out the remainder of her life. Julia was a simple lady who got along with everyone she met and always had a smile on her face. She had many hobbies and collected a variety of things from Christmas town sets, bells, dragons and other Asian artifacts. "Holy crow" she had the funniest quotes. In her younger years she enjoyed playing softball and looked forward to any chance to go fishing. As life went on she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, making dreamcatchers, beading jewelry and playing card games with her friends at Lynn Gardens.
Julia is survived by her beloved husband Nolan D Long, two children and spouses: John and Becky Destefano of Lawton, OK; Jodanna and Rick Crowe of OKC, OK. Siblings include Veda Sutphin, Daniel Higinbotham, David Higinbotham, Ralph Higinbotham, Mary Hunt, Roberta Zajac, Edward (Jim) Vaughan and Linda Redd. She had 6 grandchildren Ryen Destefano, Ashley Destefano, Hailey Destefano, Tammy Destefano, Johnny Destefano and Sean Crowe. She was blessed with 5 great grandchildren Ashlynn, Landon, Johnny Oliver, Jason and Scot along with multiple nieces and nephews. She also had some lifelong best friends that were very important to her Doris Kellog and Jack & Cheyenne Williamson.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
