Funeral services for Joshua Lynn Willow, 37, will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ethete, WY. Burial will take place at the Tyler Cemetery in Ethete. A Rosary Service will be recited at the Blue Sky Hall on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m., followed by an all-night wake at the family home located at 563 Blue Sky Hwy, just south of Ethete.
Joshua passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on the evening of March 4, 2026.
Joshua was born on May 6, 1988, to Elizabeth Yellowbear and John Willow Jr., in Lander, WY. Joshua was the youngest of seven siblings, and he has an adopted younger brother and sister. He also had an adopted sister, Angelica Yellowbear.
Joshua, being the youngest, was the baby of the family. He was cherished, nurtured, and cared for by all of his older siblings.Joshua's passing leaves a profound void not only within his immediate family but also among all those whom he regarded as family. His deep connections extended to close friends and included Chasity Makeshine, whom he embraced as a sister. The loss is felt by everyone whose lives were touched by Joshua's kindness, loyalty, and unwavering sense of belonging.
Joshua enjoyed listening to music, hanging out with his family and friends, and going to the casino. Joshua worked in the construction industry as a flagger and worked various fast-food positions. Joshua attended Sherman Indian School in Riverside, CA., he had goals and ambitions of furthering his education to obtain a professional occupation and to just explore the world. He also liked to eat at Panda Express.
Joshua is survived by his mother Elizabeth Yellowbear; father John Willow; his sister Bernie Willow and family, and Destiny Willow; Preston Willow; Theron and Tamara Willow and family; Michael Willow; Destiny Willow; and Jerimiah Willow and family. Aunts Margie Willow and family; Veronica and Dominic Addison and family; Christine and Warren Niedo and family; Linda Willow and family; Joan Willow and family; and Lorrina Yellowbear and family; uncles Byron and Karen Yellowbear and family, and Gabriel Whitetail; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended families of the Redman, Willow, Yellowbear, Brown, and Hanway families. Joshua has a very large extended family, and we apologize if we have inadvertently left anyone out during this difficult time of our grieving.
Joshua was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lucy Willow, Mary and Phillip Bear, and Calvin Yellowbear, Sr.; Stepmother, Patricia "Patty" Hanway; brothers John Willow III and Arlyn Willow; sister Angelica Yellowbear; niece Marisa Spoonhunter; nephews Bryan Willow, Wilfred "Sonny" Hill, and Charlie Washington; Eloise and Stacey Stewart; Norman and Sarah Willow, Kenny and Selma Willow; Andrew Yellowbear, Sr.; Mary Rose Yellowbear; Violet Yellowbear; Calvin Yellowbear, Jr.; Charlene "Macy" Yellowbear; Eloise "Kay" Yellowbear; Vincent Yellowbear; and Ivan Bear; cousins April Lincoln, Jocee Stewart, Kellie Willow, Lisa Mandan, Ernest Sunrhodes III, Christopher Yellowbear, and Thomas Denego; and nephews Taylor Yellowbear and Brandon Sunrhodes.
