Johnette Haynie Chandler, a Crisp County, Georgia native, passed away peacefully at
her home in Dade City, Florida on November 28th, 2023. She was born on August 24th, 1933.
As a graduate of East Crisp High School, Johnette was known as a talented basketball player
and a pageant queen. She also played piano for her church. Johnette was a devoted wife and
mother and a gifted artist. She graduated from St. Leo's University with a degree in Fine Arts.
She enjoyed sharing her love of art with her community and it remained her lifelong passion.
She was a member of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church.
Johnette was preceded in death by her parents, John Frye and Margaret Lynch Haynie
and her husband of 67 years, Willis Donald Chandler. Two sons, Steven D. Chandler and
Richard C. Chandler. One sister, Margaret Rose and two brothers James Lee and Charles
Wesley Haynie.
She is survived by two sons, John W. Chandler (Tina) and Joel D. Chandler (Nicol).
Seven grandsons and three great grandchildren. Also, one sister, Ferol Haynie Faircloth, and
one brother,George Lynch Haynie. Johnette's family also includes a large extended family
including nieces, nephews and cousins. Her services will be announced at a later date.
