John Warren Johnson of Lander passed away Monday May 20, 2013 at his home with family following a courageous battle from Crohn's and ALS( Lou Gehrig's disease)He was 61.John was born March 11, 1952 to Van and Virginia (Lee) Johnson.He went to school in Lander, attended Casper College and worked for US Steel in Atlantic City for 9 years.There he earned his apprenticeship as a Millwright. He worked for Solvay Chemicals in Green River for 18 years. In 1992 he married Deborah Lane in Lander. John was President of the Fremont County Pioneer Association for 9 months and a member for many years.He also was President of the Fremont County ATV Association for 3 years. John enjoyed being in the outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, 4 wheeling and playing with his dogs and cat.Being with family and friends was very important to him.He was always the life of the party and made people laugh.He liked helping others in need and appreciated all that they did for him during his illness.John is survived by his wife of 21 years, Debby.Also survived by brother Van Johnson Jr. and his wife Carol, nephew Adam and niece Jen, sister Midge St. John and husband Beynon, nephews Zach, Tom and wife Mandy and daughter Emily.He is preceded in death by parents Van and Virginia Johnson and brother Robert.
Services will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Lander on Saturday May 25, 2013 at 10:00 am.
