Jess A. Spoon

Mr. Spoon passed away after a long illness on November 6th, 2017.
Jess was born November 25, 1937 in a covered wagon in Alamosa, Colorado. He grew up and attended school in Arapaho, Wyoming. As a young man Jess worked as a ranch hand for the Griffin Brothers of Riverton and the Bergstedts of Lander. He soon moved to Houston, Texas and worked as a line handler for Houston Mooring and Houston Boatmen Inc.. Jess was a member of International Longshoremans Assoc. Local 1438.
Jess is preceded in death by his Father, Simon Spoon of Kansas; Sisters, Margie Henderson and Betty Mathews of Texas; Brothers, Robert Spoon of Maine, Jim Spoon of Utah, Bill Spoon and Ed Spoon of Texas. He is survived by his wife, Grace Jeanette Spoon of Lander; Sister, Emma Miller of Riverton; Sons, George Spoon (Karon) of Texas, and Brian Spoon (Tanya) of Arizona. Grandchildren, Jake, Lisa, Christy and Great Grandchild, Gracelyn. Many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins in Kansas, Montana, Utah, Texas, and Wyoming.
Jess was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a great love for his horses. He enjoyed helping his friends and neighbors with any projects that needed an extra hand.
Grave Side service was held Monday, November 13, 2017 at 1:30, in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Lander.
