Jeffrey Montez

May 25, 1982 — April 4, 2025

Jeffery Montez, 42, of Lander, Wyoming, died on April 4th, 2025. A memorial service will be held at
10 am Friday, April 11th, 2025 at the Hudson's Funeral Home in Lander, Wyoming.

Jeff was born on May 25th, 1982, to Harry Montez and Noemi Caraballo in Camden, New Jersey.
Jeff was born and raised in the Philadelphia-New Jersey area. He graduated from Rancocas Valley
High School in 2000.

He spent his early adult years shaping and discovering the man he wanted to be.
Jeff worked hard and played hard. He developed a love for gaming, anime, TV shows, and movies.
He could take the lessons and stories and apply them to the real world. He also cherished and
developed a strong relationship with his family. Being a son, brother, and uncle were the most
important things to him.

A few years before he moved to Wyoming, he started a family. Jeff was blessed with a beautiful
baby, Jacob. Being Jacob's father brought Jeff so much joy.
In 2010, Jeff moved out west with his little family. Life took a few twists and turns, and he found
his self contemplating a move back east. After some trials and errors, his heart led him back to
Lander so he could be close to his son.

In 2015, Jeff and Trish met and married in 2016. His family grew and grew. Life's trials continued;
However, the love and strength of their union resulted in many happy years. He focused on family,
doing the right thing, and supporting those around him. Many friendships blossomed, and connections were formed. They soothed his yearnings for the family, friends,
and food out east.

Jeff was able to make friends and build a community through his love of sports. He was an easy
conversationalist and was able to talk to just about anybody about just about anything. This led
him to have many friends and acquaintances in the community. All of which he cared about
deeply.

Jeff lived his life like he played his games. He is a completionist. He played the story all the way
through, making sure the side quests were completed. Grinding when needed. And always moving
forward and leveling up.

Jeff was survived by his wife Trisha Montez, his son Jacob Montez, his
step-daughter and son-in-law Zoe and Duncan Makin, his stepson Xan Hill, his stepdaughters
Ash Carlson and Zaleah Carlson, his grandchildren, Mavis Parks, Magnolia Parks, Monroe Makin,
His mother, Noemi Caraballo, and stepfather, Rafael Rodriguez, his father, Harry Montez, and
Harry's life partner Sherri Noreen, his grandmother Maria Cedeno, his sister Jenniffer Wilson,
brother-in-law Delanie Wilson, his niece Bryanna Jackson, and nephew Julius Wilson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11th, 2025, at 10 am at Hudson Funeral Home in
Lander Wyoming. Justin Vold will officiate.

There will be a reception to follow at The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 12:30 pm. 653 Cascade St Lander, Wyoming 82520.
